Hello wonderful!
This comes to you straight from the show “Lessons in Chemistry.” It’s word for word, from the last episode, and will not wreck it for you if you haven’t watched it yet! When I heard it the first time, I was so moved by it and knew I had to get it on paper and share it with you.
Reflect, regroup, ask yourself - what’s next?
Courage is the root of change and change is what we are chemically designed for.
If your life has been anything like mine, your dreams will not come to you in a linear fashion.
But if you have a voice you feel is not being heard, we would love to meet you.
As I’ve gotten older, I’ve found help to be a gift.
Introduction in Chemistry
Living things are made up of atoms, but in most cases those atoms aren’t floating around individually. Instead they are usually interacting with other atoms. Both the strong bonds that hold molecules together and the weaker bonds that create temporary connections are essential to the very existence of life.
Think of your own life. You can’t anticipate the moments. It’s only when you look backwards that you see how it was all connected. The only constant variable in a chemical reaction is change. The unexpected. Our job here is not to avoid surprise. We can’t control it. So there’s only one thing left to do. SURRENDER.
Now, we don’t have to accept the bad things, but we do have to accept the inevitability of change. Both in ourselves and our circumstances. Charles Dickens wrote, “that was a memorable day to me.” But it is the same with any life.
Imagine one selected day struck out of it, and think how different its course would have been.
Pause. You who read this - and think for a moment of the long chain of iron or gold, of thorns or flowers, that would never have bound you before the formation of the first link on one memorable day.
All my love,
K 💛
