What is your purpose?
I know, I know, this is such a cliche question... bear with me.
I’ve pondered the idea of my purpose for a long time. Do you wonder what yours is? Or have you found it?
I’ve come to believe it has everything to do with your soul’s journey. And it isn’t always obvious. Some lucky ones come with obvious gifts, like the voice of an angel. Or a writer who knows they were born to write. Or knowing you are meant to be a mother or a father.
But what if it’s even simpler than that? What if it’s not what we do, but how we feel? What if it’s just to live in joy?
The purpose of life is the journey to figure out what you came here for. And I think it’s deeply personal. To do this requires a connection to your soul. Chasing things outside of you can cause fulfillment but true purpose is discovering what your soul is trying to tell you.
When I look back I thought it had to do with what I did for a living. It may turn out to be that for some, but maybe not.
I’m asking you to look at what you were naturally born with. What qualities do you possess that make you unique? What sparks the light inside of you and makes you love your life? And how often are you enjoying those aspects of yourself?
The journey to discovering those answers can take a long time, so be patient, but always be mindful of what your inner guidance whispers in your ear. Trust that your life will reveal this to you.
Oftentimes you may have dreams or you see yourself doing something that you have no idea how you’d ever make it happen. This will take courage. Pay attention to these visions.
I believe you’re here to learn, grow and evolve into a knowing that you’re on the right path. However it looks to you, always reach for joy. We were not put here to struggle - that I know for sure. Temporarily maybe, in order to learn whatever you need to, to get further along on your journey.
If you are struggling, look at what you might be resisting. What you think ‘should be’ may not be what ‘could be.’ Listen to your soul's truth. And let that light your path - one step at a time.
It may not always be perfect, but the sun shines way more than the rain falls. Although we need both and rain is beautiful too.
My purpose is to live a life of joy. To feel good being me. To bring my joy to others. To laugh. To enjoy the benefits of being in a human body. To have experiences that light me up. To connect with others. To love today and look forward to my tomorrow. Really, what else is there to do?
Thinking of you,
Kristi 😘
