What do Netflix and life have in common?
Don’t you just love Netflix? And I’m sure like me, you’ve binged out a few times over… like just one more episode and you’ll head to bed? 😜
It got me thinking about the similarities between our lives and Netflix. So many genres, so many choices. What’s your mood? What do you pick? Where do you go? How do you feel about your life if it was being watched?
I think we all encompass a bit of everything. Drama, romance, comedy, suspense.
What ‘season’ or ‘series’ are you in right now? And how many episodes does it consist of? You know some things need longer to figure out. Is it a summer or a year? 6 episodes or 3 seasons?? What’s something new that’s shown up or what changes have taken place? Have the people in your episodes stayed the same or do new people show up often?
In some series, the main character might die in the first episode and it can take four seasons to figure out the significance that that person's life had on others.
In real life, some brave souls take their tragedy and try to make the world a better place. It can be like a show we watch on TV, but it’s real.
People’s lives do matter. What you go through matters.
Our experiences show up differently and the point I’m trying to make is for you to try to be easy about the storyline you are in right now. Whatever series of life you find yourself in, there are times of trauma, comedy, laughter, seriousness, suspense.
I like to view my life as a bit of a stage. I’m obviously the main character, and all the people in my life have had a place on my stage. Some are on it for life, some came and went, and some make guest appearances every once in a while. But all of them will hold a special place in my heart no matter how long they stayed. This helps me view my life with a lens of acceptance and lightness. Also excitement for what or who will show up next.
Some situations (series) last longer than others and please remember, you can change the channel anytime you want!
Enjoy your show!
All my love,
Kristi 💜
