I believe we are all given unique gifts. Some of you were born with obvious talents - singers, authors, artists. Keeping in mind though, these people spend a heck of a time honing their talent. There’s no such thing as an ‘overnight success.’ They’ve been working on it for years.
I believe there is a thread (link) in using our uniqueness in the world and feeling our best. So you see this isn’t about passion per se, it’s about your gifts.
Maybe you’re a great listener. Or lover. Gardener, storyteller, connector, sports enthusiast, card shark, mother or father.
When you are good at something, please utilize it - often!!
If you’ve ever felt empty or lost, I suggest taking some time to reflect and write down what you know you kick ass at. When you do the things you’re good at, you feel alive. Like there’s nowhere else you’d rather be. Pay attention when you feel this way and try to make the connection.
Working on our strengths is way more fun than building up our weaknesses. Hire people where you may fall short and excel where you find your joy.
When I think about all of my gifts, I’m at my happiest when I'm using them. Some of them I get paid for, and others are just for the pure joy of it.
So - take some time to reflect and write yours down, and see if you are using them to the fullest. And pump your tires. You are amazing!! Oh, and then be grateful. 😜
