Darling friend,
If you have a desire to live your life with inner peace, joy, freedom and love, please know that this road to ‘enlightenment’ never ends. You don’t really ever ‘get there.’ And no one is handing out a certificate of achievement.
You can get far, and for the most part inner peace is a real thing. I can vouch for it. So it’s not like taking your PhD. You take your classes and you’re done.
As humans, well, we’re not perfect and we’ll always be evolving whether it’s learning about new technologies or new people or new circumstances. So you’re never really done.
But you get better, bit by bit, day by day. There are hills to be climbed and views to discover. It’s a fabulous mess of ups and downs. When you’re up, you bask in it and when you’re down you feel it, own it, accept it, learn the lesson and move back to feeling good again. You will learn, it’s just whether you learn in joy or in pain.
A ‘dark night of the soul’ may wake you up, but that’s not what gets you back into the light. (Light meaning understanding).
Whatever your signal is, that life just isn’t the way you thought it would be, is a great place to begin. It’s a journey of going within. What do you want? How do you want to live? Who do you want in your circle? Knowing who you are will help to answer these questions. Maybe you know who you are. So does your life then reflect this?
And don’t wait for one day. It may never come.
It’s not about batting away the hard things, it’s about facing them head on and understanding what is going on in your life when you become fully accountable for where you are. Where have you withheld love? Where are you playing small? Where are you not listening to that small still voice inside?
The journey within is private and sacred. And is necessary for a life well lived. You can share it, absolutely, but first you have to know it.
My wish for you is your wish for you. You are peaceful, you are free, you are joy and you are love. You may just need to remove the blocks (perceptions) that are preventing you from seeing clearly.
