My Dad passed away

My dad passed away on Monday. I am just so sad.

God saw you getting tired
and a cure was not to be
so He put His arms around you
and whispered, “Come to Me.”
With tearful eyes we watched you
and saw you pass away
and although we love you dearly
we could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating
hard working hands at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes the best.

It’s been a rollercoaster of emotions I’ve never experienced before. And all I can do is just feel whatever needs to come up for me.

I want to pass on some of my favorite sayings that I heard him say and will continue to remember for the rest of my life. He was so wise, kind and funny. He taught me that we live and then we die. And that’s the one thing we know for sure.

I believe we never let go of the people we’ve loved. I won’t be able to see his handsome face, but I will feel him and stay close to his soul. Now I have my own real angel. Thinking this way makes me feel a bit better.

My nephew (9 yrs) asked us all to write down a couple words that come to our mind when we think of Grandpa:

Treasured, funny, joyous, wise, reliable, helpful, kind, best dancer, bold, sarcastic, big heart, lived in joy, courageous, peaceful, strong, special, loving, belly laugh, storyteller, caring, family, patient, friend, vibrant, unconditional, loved.

Some of our favorite sayings - or at least the ones we heard often…

  • A fool and his money are soon parted

  • I think of all the good times that I have wasted having good times (joke)

  • Life is simple, we can make it complicated

  • Life is heaven on earth

  • Use your ‘tootlits’ (head)

  • Timing is everything

  • Slow down!

I’m grateful in this time of utter loss and sadness, to have had such a wonderful man as a father. I will miss him dearly.

If you’ve ever lost a loved one, and want to share some of the wisdom passed on to you, I’d love to hear about it. They are just too special not to share.

Take care today,
Love Kristi 💔

I am an energetic gal who is captivated by the human condition. I believe in exploring all life experiences to learn and grow. Throughout my 20+ years of studying and learning to love and accept myself - no matter what, I have come to realize that there is no ‘right’ path or way to experience life, other than head on, with accountability, a sense of humor and lightness, and a knowing that only I can create my own reality. And this is true for everyone. You create your own reality. Let me help you get to yours!
