Activate your ability to de-stress

I was listening to a Hay House seminar with Gregg Braden, as he explained the power of connecting to our heart. The heart is a bunch of times stronger than the head (I can’t remember the exact number).

If you ever experience stress, this is a quick 3 minute break that will ground you and help provide some QUICK relief.

In a safe, quiet place, close your eyes. Put your finger or hand in the center of your chest (heart).

  1. Slow your breath (5 second inhale) and say to yourself ‘I am safe’

  2. Choose to feel one or a combination of these 4 emotions: gratitude (for anything or anyone), appreciation, care, compassion.

  3. Hold this focus as if the feeling is coming from your heart

By doing this, Gregg says (his words) that you are strengthening your immune system. You are sending the signal to awaken the longevity enzymes that give life to the cells in your body. This is called heart/brain coherence (harmony). The more you do this, the more resilient you’ll be to change in your life. This is the place to do affirmations as you are in direct communion to your subconscious and intuition.

You can take this even further! Ask your heart in this place - directly in a short phrase. It will answer in a direct way. Long answers are your ego.

  • My heart, what do you want me to know right now? (It’ll answer quickly)

  • My heart, what do you need from me right now?

  • My heart, _____________________ (ask your personal question).

Be open. 40,000 neurons are working for you.

This was a simple yet powerful exercise for me. Not sure you can ‘go within’ any better than this!

Keep up the great work! With great work comes great rewards!

For more information, here’s a 3 minute video. HeartMath Institute Research Director, Rollin McCraty discusses heart coherence and why it's essential in stress management and lasting behavior change.

Throughout my 20+ years of studying and learning to love and accept myself - no matter what, I have come to realize that there is no ‘right’ path or way to experience life, other than head on, with accountability, a sense of humor and lightness, and a knowing that only I can create my own reality. And this is true for everyone. You create your own reality. Let me help you get to yours!
