Why ‘the work’ is worth it
Hello hello!
Working towards what you want, is the exhilarating part.
Think about how often you feel so good when you’ve worked hard at something and then received the result. But was it the actual result? Or could it be all the experiences you had along the way?
I believe in order to really love something we have to believe we earned it. That’s where true value and appreciation come in. And this becomes our memories.
Plus, before you know it, you’re on to the next project or task, all the while thinking it’s for the result you’re after.
So I submit to you, not to miss the joy in the doing by focusing only on the end result. Why? Because that’s where all the juice is! All the aha’s and clicking in of new information.
Of course personal transformations and doing our inner work require consistency and commitment. And that’s when the results happen. But life is made up of getting there, not the actual result.
So my message today is to look upon your journey - the trials and tribulations, as really really good things. You are always in motion. Changing, becoming. Completing a degree, maintaining an exercise routine or having a great relationship - that will get you somewhere for sure. And just know that there is nowhere you have to be.
You are not in competition with anyone and no one is judging where you’ll end up because no one really knows your soul journey.
For me, ‘the work’ is always allowing me to know myself better. I conduct my life my way. It’s staying connected - first to me and then to others. It’s being gentle and compassionate and grateful. (Ok, it’s a lot more than that, but you get the point).
What is your ‘work?’
Personal example: Years ago a dream came true of owning my first BMW SUV. I thought I had to be married to own a car like that. Nope. The way it came to me was through ‘the work.’ And it became a story - of experiences, choices and a new chapter in my life. But the juice was how it all came to be. (I was not married, there was a scary car accident involving many important lives, a break-up and a move to another city). And yes, a BMW. Haha.
The road is long my friend. Stay on it and create some amazing stories.
Sending love,
