Why positive thinking is good, but not enough

Hey there,

What’s wrong with positive thinking? Well, nothing really, unless it’s absolutely authentic and you believe it.

Think of positive thinking as the part of the iceberg you can see and show to others. So you can smile, say you’re good, plan vacations, buy stuff and post beautiful pics online.

That’s the (5% - your consciousness mind). But it’s what’s in your subconscious (95%) that will drive your day to day and be what produces the results of your life.

What TRULY  lies beneath your surface?

Guilt?
Shame?
Regret?
Hurt?
Sadness?
Joy?
Love?

Is your positive thinking genuine? Or you just don’t want to appear negative or be in victim mode to others? Or are you scared to be honest about what’s really going on for you?

Knowing the difference here is so important. If you are faking being happy by sounding positive - please seek support. I believe we all need support.

I know this because I’ve done it. I can paste the smiley face on. It’s rare, but I know exactly when I’m doing it. Plus, I do this for a living so the expectation I have of my own ‘positive’ outlook is quite high. Also, I’m naturally a positive person, so when I’m not it feels really odd.

What I’m currently working on is being really honest with others about where I’m at. Because I want to work on being more vulnerable. I tend to keep my hurt and sadness in, but I enjoy the comfort of walking with my people being all parts of me, not just showing the shiny side of me.

Look around and just know that every person you see is hurting from something and you have no idea what they are going through. Because we’ve been told to ‘be positive, and don’t ‘air your dirty laundry.’ Well, you can with me. The dirtier the better 😜.

Seriously though - Until you look at the ‘negative’ parts of yourself, or what you are really feeling, being positive can just be another mask you wear.

Positive thinking is excellent but won’t be enough to experience the results of true transformation and evolution. Positive thinking will be what naturally occurs, once you go deeper inside, uncover your truths and learn that you actually are good enough no matter what you are feeling in the moment.

I guess a question to leave you with would be - how are you really feeling, and does at least one person know about it? If not, please let someone know. It might just help them have a safe place to be honest also.

Here’s a video I did on this topic if you like to listen and learn!

I am an energetic gal who is captivated by the human condition. I believe in exploring all life experiences to learn and grow. Throughout my 20+ years of studying and learning to love and accept myself - no matter what, I have come to realize that there is no ‘right’ path or way to experience life, other than head on, with accountability, a sense of humor and lightness, and a knowing that only I can create my own reality. And this is true for everyone. You create your own reality. Let me help you get to yours!
