Crazy holiday season

Happy holidays!

The holidays are a perfect time for lots of great food, drinks, games, conversations and maybe too many days spent in the same house, tight quarters and everyone's issues piling into the same room!

We can be tired from late nights, a little too much Christmas cheer, and pressure to be our best. It’s Christmas after all, shouldn’t everyone be in peace and joy?

We all carry around our own private challenges, and just because it’s the holidays doesn’t mean they just vanish. Try to keep this in mind.

I also think it’s a nice opportunity to press pause on the day to day, and to relax and lighten the load. People are good. Appreciate them. Appreciate yourself for the year you had. Everyone is trying to do the best they can, believe it or not.

Try to be present. Try not to worry about the future, where you’ll be, how you're ever going to get there. Give your loved ones the gift of your time and presence. They may not remember what you bought them, but they will remember your kindness and how you made them feel.

Before heading out this season, here’s what I suggest: take 5 minutes to breathe. Visualize where you are going and get into the feeling of love in your heart. Fill the room you’ll be in with love and see it how you want it to be. Here’s some words I use in my visualizations: connected, happy, laughter and fun.

Take breaks if you need them and try to maintain good habits - fresh air, exercise, meditation or anything else that allows you to reconnect to yourself. When you are good, you are good to those around you.

And don’t take on other people's stuff. Just send them a silent prayer and wish them well. Remember, we all have stuff going on underneath the surface of a smile.

Celebrate you. Cheers to you. You are a gift.
Celebrate loved ones. Cheers to them. They are a gift.

Cheers to you! I wish you a happy and safe holiday season.

I am an energetic gal who is captivated by the human condition. I believe in exploring all life experiences to learn and grow. Throughout my 20+ years of studying and learning to love and accept myself - no matter what, I have come to realize that there is no ‘right’ path or way to experience life, other than head on, with accountability, a sense of humor and lightness, and a knowing that only I can create my own reality. And this is true for everyone. You create your own reality. Let me help you get to yours!
